How To Make Nigerian Meat Pie; Making Nigerian Pie (Lihapiirakka) with Finnish Ingredients
In one of my videos on my My YouTube Channel, someone left a comment saying that I make a Nigerian Snack using Finnish ingredients. So today I made these very popular every day Snacks in Nigeria called Meat Pie with Finnish Ingredients.

So I have been living in Finland for 3 years now and I have tasted and devoured almost all Finnish Snacks and delicacies. Well, not to be selfish, I also made sure to cook or sometimes bake some Nigerian delicacies as well, and I must say with all dignity and pride that the Finns absolutely enjoyed these Nigerian delicacies as well. Okay! Olivia, enough of the patriotic praises! :D.
Anyway in as much as I love and miss certain Nigerian dishes and snacks, I must say that I have been quite impressed with some of the Finnish dishes and snacks. For example, I love the whole roasting of sausages thing, called ‘makkara’. Here is a blog post where I talked about the Finnish Laavu and roasting of ‘Makkarat’. :).
Okay, coming to the matter of the day, in one of my videos on my My YouTube Channel, someone left a comment saying that I make a Nigerian Snack using Finnish ingredients. So today I made these very popular every day Snacks in Nigeria called Nigerian Meat Pie with Finnish Ingredients.

Nigerian Meat Pie Ingredients
For the Dough:
1 kg All purpose flour (vehnäjauho)
500grams of Margarine (margariini)
2 tablespoons of Baking Powder (leivinjauho)
2 pinches of Salt (suola)
100ml cold water (vesi). Please, it is important that you use cold water in order to get a nice and crusty – flaky dough
For the Filling:
2 large potatoes (peruna)
2 large carrots (porkkana)
1 large onion (sipuli)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (mustapippuri)
1/2 teaspoon curry
1/2 teaspoon of Thyme (timjami).
100ml water (vesi)
A pinch of salt (suola)

And that is all you need! It is so easy to make. Just follow the directions in the Video and you are good to go. I’m so excited about this, can’t wait to hear you thoughts about it when you make this recipe. I’m so sure you are gonna love it! Enjoy. :).
